Sign-up request for daily weather forecasts

This is a free service paid for by the Region of Waterloo, Water and Wastewater Services. This service is available to Smart About Salt™ Certified Contractors servicing Waterloo Region and in good standing with the Smart About Salt Council.

Service details

• Runs October 1 to April 30
• Delivered via email four times daily at approximately 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 9 p.m., and 3 a.m.
• Available for three geographic areas within Waterloo Region
• Only available for one email address per organization
• Free service for eligible Smart About Salt Certified contractors

To qualify for this service

Your organization must meet the following critria to qualify for this free service.

Choosing email to receive forecasts:

• Per our agreement with the provider, weather forecasts can only be sent to one email address per organization
• Consider setting up an email specifically for receiving the weather forecasts. For example: weather@yourorganization.com

Terms and conditions:

The weather information is intended for the use of the registered contractor only and not to be shared with other organizations or persons not employed by the registered contractor.

This weather information should not be used as the only method of determining appropriate action to take at a facility during winter conditions. The Regional Municipality of Waterloo makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy of the information contained herein and assumes no responsibility for any errors or omissions in such information. The information generated by DTN and The Regional Municipality of Waterloo assumes no liability, expressed or implied, with respect to the use of such information.

Notice of Collection of  Personal Information

To the extent that the foregoing information constitutes personal information as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.56 as amended, the information is subject to provisions of that Act and will be used to collect information for the purpose of providing the weather forecast service.
