Free service paid for by the Region of Waterloo, Water and Wastewater Services. Available to Smart About Salt™ Certified Contractors servicing Waterloo Region and in good standing with the Smart About Salt Council.

Weather forecast service details

• Runs October to April
• Delivered via email as PDF attachment four times daily at about 3 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m., and 9 p.m.
• Available for three geographic areas within Waterloo Region
• Only available for one email address per organization

Choosing the email address to receive forecasts:

• Weather forecast emails can only be sent to one email address per organization
• Consider setting up an email address specifically for the weather forecasts such as weather@yourorganization.com. This may simplify filing weather forecasts as part of your record keeping requirements and sharing with your team.
• Keep in mind the email address you choose will receive weather forecast emails 4 times a day for each geographic area you request

The weather information is intended for the use of the registered contractor only and not to be shared with other organizations or persons not employed by the registered contractor. This weather information should not be used as the only method of determining appropriate action to take at a facility during winter conditions. The Regional Municipality of Waterloo makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy of the information contained herein and assumes no responsibility for any errors or omissions in such information. The information generated by DTN and The Regional Municipality of Waterloo assumes no liability, expressed or implied, with respect to the use of such information.

To the extent that the foregoing information constitutes personal information as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.56 as amended, the information is subject to provisions of that Act and will be used to collect information for the purpose of providing the weather forecast service.
